Mercy Hospital's anesthesia department is now offering epidural steroid injections to help alleviate patients that are suffering from back pain.  The procedure takes roughly 15 minutes in which a steroid is injected into the epidural space to decrease inflammation.  By decreasing the inflammation, the pain should decrease.  Usually it can be performed up to four times at two to three week intervals.  To find out if this procedure would work for you, please contact your primary care physician.  The anesthesia department at Mercy Hospital looks forward to continuing to provide quality services to the Valley City and surrounding areas.
